Dieter Bimberg received the Ph.D. magna cum laude from Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. He held a Principal Scientist position at the Max Planck-Institute for Solid State Research, Grenoble, France, until 1979. After serving as a Professor of electrical engineering, Technical University of Aachen, Germany, he assumed the Chair of Applied Solid-State Physics at Technical University of Berlin. He is the Founding Director of its Center of NanoPhotonics. He was holding guest professorships at the Technion, Haifa, U.C. Santa Barbara, CA, USA, and at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, CA. He was Distinguished Adjunct Professor at KAU, Jeddah 2012-2018. In 2018 he assumed the directorship of the “Bimberg Chinese German Center for Green Photonics” at the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina,the EU Academy of Sciences, a ForeignMember of the Russian Academy of Sciences,the US Academies of Engineering and of Inventors, a Life Fellow of the American Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE, and a honorary member of the Ioffe Institute of the RAS. He is recipient of multiple international awards, like the UNESCO Nanoscience Award, the Max-Born Award and Medal of IoP and DPG, the Heinrich-Welker-Award, the Nick Holonyak Jr. Award, the Oyo Buturiand MOC Awards of the Japanese Society of Applied Physics, the Jun-Ichi Nishizawa Medal and Award of IEEE, the Stern-Gerlach Award of DPGto mention a few. He received honorary doctorates of the University of Lancaster, UK, and the St.Petersburg AlferovUniversity of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He has authored more than 1600 papers, 71 patents and patent applications, and six books. The number of times his research works has been cited exceeds 66,000 and his Hirsch factor is 113 (@ Google Scholar). His research interests include physics and technology of nanostructures, nanostructured photonic and electronic devices, and energy efficient data communication.

Young Pak Lee received his B. S. degree from Seoul National Univ., Korea, in 1975, and the Ph. D. degree in experimental condensed-matter physics in 1987 from Iowa State Univ., U. S. A. His research has involved study on magneto-optical, magnetic, optical and transport properties, and electronic structures of thin films and nanostructures, characterization of the surfaces and interfaces of thin films including multilayers, and so forth since his Ph. D. degree. After many careers in U. S. A., Japan, Germany, China and Korea, he is now former President of the Korean Physical Society and Distinguished Prof., Physics Dept. of Hanyang Univ., and Distinguished Prof., Dept. of Optical Science and Engineering of Fudan University, China. Prof. Lee is also Fellow (former Physics Chair) of Korea Academy of Science and Technology, Series Editor for “Topics in Applied Physics” of Springer Publishing Co., and Editorial Board Member of “Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Application.” He has published 738 SCI papers with an h-index of 65 as of May 2022. His current investigations include metamaterials and magnetic photonic crystals, multiferroic systems, and nanoscopic investigation of morphology and magnetic domain. He has received tens of academic awards including Sungbong Physics Award (the highest-level Award from the Korean Physical Society) and Korean National Order of Science and Technology Merit.

Professor Vladimir G. Chigrinov is Professor of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology since 1999. He is an Expert in Flat Panel Technology in Russia, recognized by the World Technology Evaluation Centre, 1994, and SID Fellow since 2008. He is an author of 6 books, 31 reviews and book chapters, about 317 journal papers, more than 668 Conference presentations, and 121 patents and patent applications including 36 US patents in the field of liquid crystals since 1974. He got Excellent Research Award of HKUST School of Engineering in 2012. He obtained Gold Medal and The Best Award in the Invention & Innovation Awards 2014 held at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2014, which was hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 20-22 Feb 2014. He is a Member of EU Academy of Sciences (EUAS) since July 2017. He got A Slottow Owaki Prize of SID in 2018 .He is 2019 Distinguished Fellow of IETI (International Engineering and Technology Institute). Since 2018 he works as Professor in the School of Physics and Optoelectronics Engineering in Foshan University, Foshan, China. 2020-2024 Vice President of Fellow of Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IDSAI) Since 2021 distinguished Fellow of Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence.

Zhu Han received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University, in 1997, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. From 2000 to 2002, he was an R&D Engineer of JDSU, Germantown, Maryland. From 2003 to 2006, he was a Research Associate at the University of Maryland. From 2006 to 2008, he was an assistant professor at Boise State University, Idaho. Currently, he is a John and Rebecca Moores Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department as well as the Computer Science Department at the University of Houston, Texas. Dr. Han is an NSF CAREER award recipient of 2010, and the winner of the 2021 IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award. He has been an IEEE fellow since 2014, an AAAS fellow since 2020, an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer from 2015 to 2018, and an ACM Distinguished Speaker from 2022-2025. Dr. Han is also a 1% highly cited researcher since 2017.

Prof. Dr. Raymond Ooi is an elected Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia since 2015. He won the Malaysian Toray Science Foundation (MTSF) Science & Technology Award in 2013. He obtained his PhD (dr.rer.nat) from Universitaet Konstanz, Germany in quantum optics and laser cooling of molecules. He then worked as a post-doctoral Research Associate for three years with Marlan O. Scully (a distinguish physicist in quantum coherence). During this time, he was also a Visiting Scientist at Princeton University and Max-Planck Institut fuer Quantenoptik. Then, he joined KAIST as a Research Professor, Korea University as Assistant Professor and Monash University (Sunway) as Senior Lecturer, before joining Universiti Malaya in 2010. His research has produced a total of more than 160 publications (mainly WoS journal & including conference papers) covering quantum optics, nonlinear molecular spectroscopy and quantum microscopy, statistical physics of Bose-Einstein condensates, interactions, generation and propagation of ultrashort and intense laser pulses. In 2011 he initiated the "Quantum and Laser Science" research center and single-handedly developed the Ultrafast High Intensity Femtosecond Laser and Optics facility in High Impact Research (HIR) building through the MoHE grant. In 2018, he initiated and chaired the first international conference on Quantum and Nonlinear Optics(QNO2018). Recently he is leading quantum communications research program for the country.

Hong Liu obtained his PhD degree from the National University of Singapore. He joined A*STAR’s Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) in August 2003 and is currently the Head of the Nanofabrication Department. Liu is dedicated to advancing the nanofabrication technologies of fundamental building blocks (materials and structures) toward functional devices for nanophotonics, nanoplasmonics and smart structures. Currently, he is leading a research group in developing ultrafast and low-power intelligent nano-optics technology to address the challenges in all-optical neuromorphic computing and on-chip integration with advanced optical materials.

Currently, I am working as a Research Scientist at Ribbon Communications (Formely, ECI Telecom). My responsibilities include developing optical network simulator in Matlab and testing the various networks in lab. I am part developingthe L-band WDM technology in Optical Communication. Currently, I am learning and applying AI and ML to optical networks. Before Ribbon, I worked with the Photonics Devices group, Applied Physics, Hebrew University, Jerusalem. I worked on ROADM switches for future space division multiplexing (SDM)-optical networks. I have developed algorithms to measure the performance of SDM/WDM-ROADM in the optical network. My research resulted in the publication of 5 conference papers and the submission of 2 journal papers. I have completed my PhD in Photonics in April 2017. As a PhD student, I worked on the project titled 'A novel method of frequency-shift free optical phase conjugation and its applications in coherent optical communication'. In this work, I have demonstrated-both theoretically and experimentally- a novel method to generate frequency shift-free phase conjugation and used it for the nonlinearity and dispersion compensation of transmission fiber. I have also designed an optical buffer with tunable delay using an optical waveguide. This optical buffer can be used to obtain optical finite-impulse-response (FIR) filter for all-optical signal processing. As a result of this research, I secured US patent, filed 1 Indian patent and published 1 book-chapter, 7 journal papers and 16 conferences.

Mahito Negishi received a Ph.D. degree in mechanical engineering from Tokyo University in 2004. He was an R&D Engineer of CANON Co., Ltd. from 1985 to 2019. He is in CCTECH JAPAN Co. Ltd. His work fields are optics inspection and fabrication systems. get awards, the best paper "Development of a Stitch Algorithm Using the Approximated Reference Shape" from the Japan Society of Precision Engineering in 2015 and the best paper "Development of high-speed and high-precision alignment technology using 3D chart" from the ODF international conference in 2022.

Filippo Cugini is Head of Research Sector at CNIT, Pisa, Italy. His main research interests include theoretical and experimental studies in the field of communications and networking. In particular, the focus is on flexible optical networks, disaggregated solutions, software defined networking (SDN), edge computing, and network programmability including P4. He currently serves as Project Coordinator of the EU-funded projects SmartEdge (Semantic Low-code Programming Tools for Edge Intelligence) and SEASON (SElf-mAnaged Sustainable high-capacity Optical Networks). He is co-author of 14 patents and more than 300 international publications.

CAIMING SUN received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from Beijing Normal University, Beijing, China, in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He is currently a researcher at Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Manufacturing (IRIM), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Shenzhen, China. His research interests include Nanophotonic Phased Array and Si Photonics. He has published more than 50 papers in referred international conferences and journals, and granted over 20 patents. He is a senior member of IEEE Photonics Society/ Robotics and Automation Society.

Prof. Xueming Liu received the Ph.D. degree from the Southeast University, Nanjing, China, in 2000. Then, he studied and worked at the University of Cambridge, respectively, Tsinghua University, Seoul National University, Agency for Science, Technology and Research(A*STAR) in Singapore, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology. In 2005, he joined the Xi'an Institute of Optical Precision Machinery, Chinese Academy of Sciences, as the recipient of "Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) Hundred Talents". He is now working as a professor Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics from 2021. Prof. Liu is the recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the national candidate of "Millions of Talents Project", and the recipient of Special government allowances of the State Council. His current research interests include nonlinear optics, fiber lasers, and ultrafast optics.
