Dieter Bimberg received the Ph.D. magna cum laude from Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. He held a Principal Scientist position at the Max Planck-Institute for Solid State Research, Grenoble, France, until 1979. After serving as a Professor of electrical engineering, Technical University of Aachen, Germany, he assumed the Chair of Applied Solid-State Physics at Technical University of Berlin. He is the Founding Director of its Center of NanoPhotonics. He was holding guest professorships at the Technion, Haifa, U.C. Santa Barbara, CA, USA, and at Hewlett-Packard in Palo Alto, CA. He was Distinguished Adjunct Professor at KAU, Jeddah 2012-2018. In 2018 he assumed the directorship of the “Bimberg Chinese German Center for Green Photonics” at the Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics and Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a member of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina,the EU Academy of Sciences, a ForeignMember of the Russian Academy of Sciences,the US Academies of Engineering and of Inventors, a Life Fellow of the American Physical Society and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, IEEE, and a honorary member of the Ioffe Institute of the RAS. He is recipient of multiple international awards, like the UNESCO Nanoscience Award, the Max-Born Award and Medal of IoP and DPG, the Heinrich-Welker-Award, the Nick Holonyak Jr. Award, the Oyo Buturiand MOC Awards of the Japanese Society of Applied Physics, the Jun-Ichi Nishizawa Medal and Award of IEEE, the Stern-Gerlach Award of DPGto mention a few. He received honorary doctorates of the University of Lancaster, UK, and the St.Petersburg AlferovUniversity of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He has authored more than 1600 papers, 71 patents and patent applications, and six books. The number of times his research works has been cited exceeds 66,000 and his Hirsch factor is 113 (@ Google Scholar). His research interests include physics and technology of nanostructures, nanostructured photonic and electronic devices, and energy efficient data communication.

Dr. Wenshan Cai is a full professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, with a joint appointment in Materials Science and Engineering. Prior to joining Georgia Tech in 2012, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University. Dr. Cai received his B.S. and M.S. from Tsinghua University in 2000 and 2002, respectively, and his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2008. His research is focused on nanophotonic materials and devices, in which he has made major impacts on the evolving field of plasmonics and metamaterials. Dr. Cai has published ~70 journal articles, which in total have been cited ~20,000 times. He authored the book, Optical Metamaterials: Fundamentals and Applications, which is used as a textbook or a major reference around the world. Dr. Cai is the recipient of several distinctions, including the OSA/SPIE Joseph W. Goodman Book Writing Award and the Office of Naval Research Young Investigator Award.

Shin’ichiro Hayashi received the Ph.D. degree in physics from Meiji University, Japan, in 2004. From 2004, he was with RIKEN, Japan, as a Researcher. In 2016, he joined the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, as a Senior Researcher. His research interests include terahertz wave generation and measurement using nonlinear optics and their applications.

Dr. Xingjie Ni is an Associate Professor of School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science as well as Materials Research Institute at the Pennsylvania State University. He joined Penn State in 2015. Prior to that, he was a postdoctoral fellow in Professor Xiang Zhang’s group at the University of California, Berkeley. He completed his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University in 2012 under Professor Vladimir Shalaev’s supervision. He received his BS degree in Engineering Physics in 2005 and his MS degree in Automation in 2007 from Tsinghua University. Dr. Ni’s research focus lies in nanophotonics, plasmonics, and metamaterials/metasurfaces. He has made significate contributions to the development of the metasurface since its emergence. Dr. Ni has published over 40 peer-reviewed journal papers, including 2 Science, 1 Nature, and 3 Nature sister-journal (including Nature Photonics, Nature Nanotechnology, etc.) papers, which have about 8500 citations as of today. Dr. Ni received the Charles H. Fetter Endowed Faculty Fellowship in 2015. He was selected as an inaugural Moore Inventor Fellow (only five fellows nationwide) in 2016. He also received NASA Early Career Faculty Award in 2017 (eight awards nationwide), Sony Faculty Innovation Award in 2018, and the 3M Non-Tenured Faculty Award in 2019. He received the National Science Foundation CAREER award in 2021.

My main research interests are cooperative phenomena in condensed matter physics, such as superconductivity, magnetism and associated nano quantum functions. In 1997, we were the first in the world to reveal the first-order melting transition of Abrikosov vortex lattice in cuprate high-temperature superconductors by large-scale computer simulations. In 2007, we discovered a new state of phase dynamics in intrinsic Josephson junctions of layered superconductor BSCCO-2212, which can serve as a novel quantum source of coherent terahertz electromagnetic waves. In recent years, we have designed novel half metallic materials based perovskite cuprates and iron pnictides by first-principles calculations. Our current interest is to discover novel topological phenomena and topological materials. In this project "Topological Quantum Phenomena in Condensed Matter with Broken Symmetries", we perform theoretical study aiming to generate, detect and manipulate Majorana fermion (MF)-like quasiparticles in topological superconductors, and to develop novel quantum functions based on MFs. Meanwhile, we are going to design strong topological insulators, which are robust even at high temperatures and useful for spintronics.

Yong Zhang received theB.S. and M.S. from Xiamen University and Ph.D. from Dartmouth College all in Physics. He joined National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in 1994 as a postdoc and was a Senior Scientist with Materials and Computational Science Centerat NREL before he moved to The University of North Carolina at Charlotte as Bissell Distinguished Professor with Electrical and Computer Engineering Department in 2009. He is an Adjunct Professor of Department of Physics and Optical Science. His research interests include electronic and optical properties of semiconductors and related nanostructures, organic-inorganic hybrid materials, impurity and defects in semiconductors, and novel materials and device architectures for energy, electronics, and related applications (e.g., photovoltaics, solid-state-lighting, electronic-photonic integrated circuits), using various optical spectroscopy techniques and large-scale first-principles and empirical electronic structure modeling methods. He is a Fellow of the American Physical Society.

Prof. Yuerui (Larry) Lu is a professor in School of Engineering at the Australian National University (ANU). He received his Ph.D. degree from Cornell University in 2012, and B.S. degree from University of Science and Technology of China. Professor Lu is currently the chief investigator at the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology. His research interests include 2D quantum materials and optoelectronic devices, MEMS sensors and actuators, biomedical novel devices, etc. He has published 2 books (as editor), 7 book chapters, and more than 100 papers in high-impact journals, including Nature, Science, Nature Physics, Light: Science & Applications, ACS Nano, Nature Communications, etc. He was the recipient of several competitive awards, including the Investigator Award from National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) in 2022, Young Innovator Award from Springer Publishing Group in 2020, Future Leader Fellowship and Paul Korner Innovation Award from National Heart Foundation of Australia in 2019, Outstanding Supervisor Award for 3MT (3 minutes thesis) Competition from ANU in 2018, ACT Young Tall Poppy of 2016, Media and Outreach Award from ANU in 2015, Discovery Early Career Research Award (DECRA) from Australian Research Council (ARC) in 2014, Future Engineering Research Leadership Fellow from ANU in 2013, etc.

Prior to coming to Brown University in 1999, he was the Nortel Chair in Emerging Technologies and James Ham Chair in Optoelectronics, and the Director of Nortel Institute of Telecommunications at the University of Toronto. A Fellow of AAAS, APS, Guggenheim, IEEE, and InstP (UK), Professor Xu is interested in nanoscale science and technology, quantum electronics and photonics, sensors, semiconductor lasers, electro-optics, and collective behaviors of large coupled systems such as neuromorphic computing. His ongoing research includes carbon nanotubes; diamond nanowires, Silicon lasers, active metamaterials, quantum materials, synthesis and non-lithographic fabrication and study of quantum-arrays made from metals, superconducting, molecules and semiconductors; DNA conductivity; physics of redox processes in proteins and cells. Research results have been reported in over ~300 refereed journal papers and at over 290 plenary, keynote, invited talks at conferences, seminars, colloquia, and speeches in the areas of nano and quantum structures, photonics and physics in USA, Canada, and other regions and countries. Holds 22 patents. Supervised 25 Ph.D theses, 30 Master Degree theses and 26 postdoctoral fellows. 23 of former and current students won 26 international, national, and university awards and prizes for their research accomplishments. 7 of them hold Chaired Professorships. Peter G.R. Smith is a Professor in the Optoelectronics Research Centre and in Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. He graduated from Oxford University with a BA in Physics in 1990 and D.Phil in Nonlinear Optics in 1993. After a year spent as a management consultant he joined the University of Southampton. Peter has worked on a number of areas in optics research ranging from laser spectroscopy to polymer integrated-optics. He has published over 350 journal and conference papers in the fields of periodically poled materials and UV written devices at major conferences, including invited talks at national and international meetings. He has been the founder of two spin-out companies, and is currently a Director of Covesion Ltd, a leading company in PPLN and applications of Quasi-phase matched materials.

Yang Yue received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering and optics from Nankai University, China, in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California, USA, in 2012. He is a Professor with the School of Information and Communications Engineering, Xi'an Jiaotong University, China. Dr. Yue’s current research interest is intelligent photonics, including optical communications, optical perception, and optical chip. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed journal papers (including Science) and conference proceedings with >9,000 citations, five edited books, two book chapters, >50 issued or pending patents, >170 invited presentations (including 1 tutorial, >20 plenary and >30 keynote talks). Dr. Yue is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE). He is an Associate Editor for IEEE Access, Editor Board Member for three other scientific journals, Guest Editor for >10 journal special issues. He also served as Chair or Committee Member for >80 international conferences, Reviewer for >60 prestigious journals.

Dr. Wei is currently a principle researcher at Huawei German Research Center. He received a PhD from the University of Wales in 2010. Dr. Wei’s research interests include optics communications, photonics switching/signal processing,advanced modulation/coding, digital signal processing, algorithms, and machine learning. Heedited one book and (co-)authoredover 150 peer-reviewed journal/conference papers including more than 10 invited. He holds several US/Europe patents.Dr. Wei is a Marie Curie fellow and a senior member of IEEE.

Dr. Niklaus Ursus Wetter graduated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ) with specializations in Lasers and superconductivity and I did my doctoral research in ultrafast lasers at the Nuclear and Energy Research Institute at the University of São Paulo (IPEN). I am a tenured scientist at the Center for Lasers and Applications at IPEN where I completed the supervisions of nine postdocs, more than thirty master students and eight doctor theses. My research group has accumulated over 20 years of experience in the field of diode pumped solid state lasers where we have obtained several patents and numerous publications in high-index journals. The vast experience is also reflected in a large number of invited talks and ordinary contributions to conferences as well as the organization of national and international conferences, workshops and graduate summer schools. I have managed science through high volume research projects and also held several high institutional responsibilities such as director of the Center for Lasers and Applications (CLA) and president of the science foundation FAFITPE.

Zhigang Chen earned his Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr College and was promoted to the rank of Senior Research Staff Member at Princeton University before joining the faculty at San Francisco State University in 1998. He is currently a specially-appointed professor at Nankai University, China. His research interests include nonlinear photonics, topological phenomena, structured light and biophotonics. Dr. Chen is a Fellow of the Optical Society of America and the American Physical Society. He has served as an Editor/Guest Editor for several journals including Optics Letters, Light Science & Applications, Science Bulletin, and Advances in Physics X, and as a Chair/Organizer for many conferences including the Program/General Co-Chair for CLEO-Fundamental Science.

Prof. Wei-Hong Zhu received his Bachelor degree of Chemistry in 1992 from Nanjing Normal University, Master degree of Organic Chemistry in 1995 from Nankai University, PhD degree of Applied Chemistry in 1999 from East China University of Science & Technology (ECUST), China. He worked in AIST Central 5, Tsukuba (Postdoctoral, 2001.10-2003.4) and in Tsukuba University (visiting professor, 2004.7-2005.3), Japan. He became a full professor in 2004, and has published more than 320 SCI papers in international journals with H-index of 76, such as Nature, Nature Photonics, J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. He is currently a full Professor in the China University of Geosciences, and the head of the Integrated Optoelectronics and IntelliSense team. He is working on silicon photonics, integrated nano-photonics and machine learning, and have published more than 60 SCI papers.

Prof. Qiu Min is a recipient of the National Outstanding Youth Fund, a Fellow of the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE Fellow), a Fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA Fellow) and a Fellow of the International Society of Optical Engineering (SPIE Fellow). In 1995 and 1999, he received his BSc and PhD in Condensed Matter Physics from Zhejiang University, and his PhD in Electromagnetic Theory from the Royal Swedish Institute of Technology in 2001. In 2001, he was hired as an assistant professor at the Royal Swedish Institute of Technology, promoted to associate professor in 2005, and promoted to full professor of photonics in 2009. He has been awarded the "Future Research Leaders" Fund by the "Swedish Strategic Research Foundation" and the Special Fund for Senior Research Fellows of the Swedish National Research Foundation. In 2010, he served as a professor at the School of Optoelectronic Science and Engineering, Zhejiang University, and was the director of the State Key Laboratory of Modern Optical Instruments at Zhejiang University. He joined Westlake University in 2018 and is currently Guoqiang Chair Professor and Vice President. 　The main research direction of Professor Qiu Min's laboratory is micro-nano optoelectronics, including micro-nano processing technology and equipment, micro-nano photonic theory and optoelectronic devices, and key theories and technologies for intelligent applications. In 2017 and 2020, as the project leader, he led the "Nanotechnology" National Key R&D Program and the National Major Scientific Research Instrument Development Project (free application category). Due to his outstanding contributions in the field of nanophotonics, he was elected as a Fellow of the Optical Society of America (OSA Fellow) and a Fellow of the International Society of Optical Engineering (SPIE Fellow) at the end of 2013, and was elected as a Fellow of the International Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE Fellow) at the end of 2015. In 2019, he was elected as a Fellow of the Optical Society of China (COS Fellow). Karlheinz Blankenbach has three decades of experience in LEDs and displays. After a successful career in the industry (display electronics, LCDs) he was appointed in 1995 to full professor at Pforzheim University, Germany, where he founded the university’s Display Lab. His main R&D activities are display topics such as optical measurements, display systems, evaluations, HMI, and LEDs. He has published more than 200 papers and articles. Blankenbach is a member of the Society for Information Display’s subcommittees “Automotive/Vehicular Displays and HMI Technologies”. He serves as member of the board and chairman (incl. honorary) of the Display forum (DFF).

Herbert Schneckenburger is a Professor of Physics and Biomedical Optics at Aalen University and a private lecturer of the Medical Faculty of the University of Ulm, Germany. He received his PhD in Physics from the University of Stuttgart in 1979 and his habilitation in Biomedical Technology from the University of Ulm in 1992. His research is focused on Optical Microscopy and Time-resolved Laser Spectroscopy, including technical development and various applications in cell and tumor biology. In the period 1979-2022 he published almost 300 scientific articles, received 6 patents and managed and performed 36 projects with third-party funding.

Xiangwei Zhao is a professor of State Key Laboratory of Bioelectrtonics, Southeast University. He graduated from Zhejiang University with PhD degree at 2006 and then joined Southeast University. He has been a visiting scholar of Osaka Univerisyt (2008), Michigan University Ann Arbor (2011), University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (2011) and Harvard University (2013). His research focuses on nanophotonics, spatial transcriptomics and point of care testing (POCT).

DeGui Sun is Full Professor in Optical Physics, Photonics, and Information Science at the School of Physics – Changchun University of Science and Technology since 2017. From 2003 to 2016 he was a chief scientist in the small Startup – D&T Photonics, which was spun from University of Ottawa (uOttawa), to carry out the development of silicon waveguide switching components. He received his Ph.D degree from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) at Changchun Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (CIOM) in 1993. Thin in 1994-1998, he was a postdoc fellow in University of Texas at Austin, USA. 1998-2001, he worked in Nu-Wave Photonics for developing the optic communication components; 2002-2003, he was Research Associate and worked in a Joint Project Group at Northwestern University, USA, where he was the team leader. In 2003-2006, he carried out his “100-Talent-Plan” Project of CAS at Changchun Institute of Optics, Fine Mechanics, and Physics (CIOMP), China. In 2007-2018, he was Research Scientist in Centre for Research in Photonics at uOttawa, Canada. In summary, he comprises science researchers and industrial product developer with different backgrounds from working in close collaboration to foster exploratory and seeding research in interdisciplinary areas. Since 2007, he published over 50 papers (excluding some publications using his Chinese name as author), held 5 patents (1 USA patent and 4 China patents). In 2019, he was awarded the outstanding foreign expert of Jilin Provincial Government. He now is member of Optical Society of America (OSA) and member of the IEEE society.

Paulo P. Monteiro received the diploma “Licenciatura” in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Aveiro in 1988, the M.Sc. in Electronic Engineering, from the University of Wales UK, in 1990 and the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, from the University of Aveiro, in 1999. Presently, he is Associate Professor at the University of Aveiro and Group Leader of Optical Communications Systems at the Instituto de Telecomunicações. From October 2002 until March 2007 he was at Siemens S.A, Portugal as a Head of Research of Optical Networks. From April 2007 until December 2009 he was at Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) Portugal as a Research Manager at Transport, Aggregation and Fixed Access and from January 2010 until June 2012 as a R&D manager of Network Optimization unit at NSN. From July 2012 until May 2013 he was research Manager at NSN Portugal. In May 2013, the Optical Networks business unit of Nokia Siemens Networks began operating as a new company Coriant where he left in June 2013. In 1992, he joined the Department of Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering of University of Aveiro and the Optical Communications Group of Institute for Telecommunications as an Assistant Professor and Researcher, respectively. In 1999, he became an Auxiliary Professor at the University of Aveiro and he was promoted to Associate Professor in 2005. His main research interests include Optical Communications, Microwave Photonics, Fixed-mobile convergence and Reflectometry systems. Successfully tutored over 16 PhDs, 24 Masters and participated in more than 26 research projects. Zhu Han received the B.S. degree in electronic engineering from Tsinghua University, in 1997, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1999 and 2003, respectively. From 2000 to 2002, he was an R&D Engineer of JDSU, Germantown, Maryland. From 2003 to 2006, he was a Research Associate at the University of Maryland. From 2006 to 2008, he was an assistant professor at Boise State University, Idaho. Currently, he is a John and Rebecca Moores Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department as well as the Computer Science Department at the University of Houston, Texas. Dr. Han is an NSF CAREER award recipient of 2010, and the winner of the 2021 IEEE Kiyo Tomiyasu Award. He has been an IEEE fellow since 2014, an AAAS fellow since 2020, an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer from 2015 to 2018, and an ACM Distinguished Speaker from 2022-2025. Neda Ghofraniha is researcher at Istituto dei Sistemi Complessi (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche) in Italy and currently working in the fields of random photonics and microlasers. She has consolidated experience in nonlinear optics and nonlinear waves propagation and past experience in phase transitions in soft matter. Her main achievements are the first observation of nonlocal dispersive optical shock waves in liquids and the first experimental demonstration of the Replica Symmetry Breaking Theory, that is mentioned in the motivations of the Nobel Prize in Physics 2022 to Giorgio Parisi. In addition, she realised several micron sized lasers made of biomimetic and lithographed organic materials, liquid droplets and electrospun polymer fibres.

Prof. Salman Noach received his Ph.D. in 2002 from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem Israel. Due to 30 years of experience on a wide variety of topics in electro-optics, since he finished his first degree in Electro-optics at JCT,he brings both industrial and academic skills to his researches topics. In 2003, after few years in the industry, hejoin the physics faculty at JCT, since then he has been a faculty member of the Physics Department. In 2009, he founded the Solid State Lasers Laboratory at JCT. The lab is mainly engaged in applied research and development of CW and Pulsed solid-state lasers, Nonlinear optics, Raman wavelength shifting, and Optical amplifiers in the SWIR and the NIR spectral range. Boris D. Barmashenko is a professor at Department of Physics, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel. He received his M.S. degree in physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, Moscow, USSR, in 1980 and his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Physics, Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, Kiev, USSR, in 1985. From 1980 until 1990 he was a research associate in the Department of Theoretical Physics, Institute of Semiconductors Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, Kiev, USSR. In 1991 he joined Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel, where he is currently a Professor in the Department of Physics. His research interests include diode pumped alkali lasers, chemical and gas flow lasers, optical resonators, chemically reacting gas flows, laser-based spectroscopy and nonlinear optics. Prof. Barmashenko tutored more than 20 Ph. D. and M. Sc. students. He is an author of about 200 papers in refereed journals and presented invited talks at more than 20 conferences.

Dr. Turkmen is a Professor in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department at Erciyes University (Turkey). He received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Erciyes University, both in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, in 2003 and 2009, respectively. He worked for Boston University as a visiting research assistant professor between 2009 and 2012. His current research interests include nanotechnology, lighting systems, metamaterials, plasmonics and their applications in chemical and biological sensing, and optical communication and microwave printed circuits, and patch antennas for wireless communication such as wireless local area network (WLAN), and wireless body area network (WBAN) applications. He is a recipient of the Graduate and Postdoctoral Research Fellowships from The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK). Prof. Turkmen is also a member of KUSI Group as the Representative of TR72 Region and City of Kayseri, in the Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology. He is also the Founder of Fotonik Technology Co. Inc.

Huiyun Liu received the PhD in Semiconductor Science from the Institute of Semiconductor, Chinese Academy of Sciences. After receiving his PhD, he joined the EPSRC National Centre for III-V Technologies at University of Sheffield in August 2001. He was responsible for the development of Molecular Beam Epitaxy growth of semiconductor materials for the UK academic and industrial research community. In 2007, he was awarded Royal Society University Research Fellow and started his academic career in the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at UCL, where he is currently a Professor of Semiconductor Photonics. He has co-authored over 300 papers in the area of semiconductor materials and devices. His general interest concentrates on the nanometre-scale engineering of low-dimensional semiconductor structures (such as quantum dots, quantum wires, and quantum wells) by using molecular beam epitaxy and the development of novel optoelectronic devices including lasers, detectors, and modulators by developing novel device process techniques.

Dr. Xin Chen is a Principle Engineer at Ipswich Research Center, Huawei. He received Ph.D from Aalborg University, Denmark, and has worked at academia including York University, Manchester University, Cambridge University, and industry including Corning Research Center, CIP, and Huawei. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers and held over 20 patents. His recent work is focusing on high-speed semiconductor transmitters.

Professor Sheng-Lung Huang received the B.S. degree from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 1986 and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park, GA, USA, in 1990 and 1993, respectively. He joined the Graduate Institute of Photonics and Optoelectronics (GIPO) and Department of Electrical Engineering, National Taiwan University, in 2006 and became a Distinguished Professor in 2021. He served as the Chairman/Director of GIPO from August 2007 to July 2010. He was also a guest professor at the Abbe School of Photonics, Friedrich-Schiller University of Jena, Germany, in 2014. Professor Huang is a Fellow of the OPTICA (formerly OSA) and is presently a Distinguished Lecturer of the IEEE Photonics Society (2022/2023). He was a steering board member of the European Master of Science in Photonics (EMSP) and has organized several international conferences and workshops, including OECC 2011 and BioPhotonics 2013. He served as Chairman of IEEE/LEOS (now IEEE/PS) Taipei Chapter (2005/2006), as an Associate Editor of the IEEE Photonics Journal (2016-2021), and was a Topical Editor of the Optics Letters (2005–2011).

Liu Zhi, male, born in 1971, doctor of engineering, professor, doctoral supervisor, is currently the director of the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center of Space Optoelectronics Technology of Changchun University of Science and Technology, and the executive deputy director of the Space Optoelectronics Technology Research Institute. At present, scientific research work is mainly carried out in the fields of space laser communication and key technologies for networking applications and optoelectronic dynamic performance testing of industrial equipment. As the host and main participant of the project, he has participated in more than 40 scientific research projects such as the key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 863, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the Science and Technology Department of Jilin Province. Many scientific research achievements have been made in environmental target detection, identification and tracking, and some major technical fields in local economic construction. Dr. Chen Chao received his bachelor degree of electronic information engineering and master degree of optical engineering degree in 2004 and 2008 respectively in Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC). Druing the past ten years, Dr Chen has been engaged in infrared detector and CAD technology on MEMS device. Dr. Kady Gregersen is an Associate Technical Fellow in Chemical Technologies within Boeing Research & Technology. Her work has focused on many aspects of decorative and functional coatings including surface preparation, new coating development, and coating removal for interior and exterior coatings. Dr. Gregersen’s primary focus in recent years has been developing and implementing laser ablation processes for paint removal on both military and commercial aircraft. These new methods provide safe and efficient paint removal processes the reduce Boeing’s environmental footprint and eliminate ergonomically challenging processes such as sanding. Dr. Gregersen joined Boeing after receiving her Ph.D. in Materials Chemistry from the University of Washington.

Harish Subbaraman earned the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. Until 2016, he worked as a Senior Research Scientist at Omega Optics, Inc (Austin, TX), where he led and managed SBIR/STTR projects in the areas of printed and flexible hybrid electronics and silicon/polymer photonics. In 2016, he joined The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boise State University (Boise, ID). At Boise State, he served as the Associate Site Director for NSF I/UCRC (ATOMIC) and the Advanced Manufacturing BSU lead for the Center for Advanced Energy Studies. He joined The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Oregon State University in Fall 2022, where he is currently an Associate Professor. Subbaraman’s research interests are in printed and flexible hybrid electronics (print modalities; novel ink synthesis/characterization; devices); silicon photonics (modeling, interconnects, devices, hybrid integration with novel materials, packaging); fiber optics (modeling, sensors development and characterization); and 2D optoelectronics. Zhiwei Shi received his Ph.D. degrees in optics from South China Normal University in 2011. His current research interests include topological photonics, nonlinear optics, and structure optics.He has hosted or participated in a number of national and provincial projects in China, including the National Natural Science Foundation, the Natural Science Foundation of Guangdong Province, the LED Industry Project of the Special Fund for Strategic Emerging Industries of Guangdong Province, and so on. In recent years, he has published more than 60 relevant papers, among which nearly 50 papers are included in SCI, and he has also obtained a number of authorized invention patents.

Dr. Wojciech Suder is a senior lecturer in laser processing and welding science with the main focus on high power laser processing and development of novel welding processes and systems. He has been working at Cranfield since 2012 as a researcher and then since 2016 as a lecturer. He holds a PhD in laser welding from Cranfield University and an MSc in Materials Science from Gdansk University of Technology. His research interest is in understanding fundamentals of laser material interactions, process science and development of high power laser processes, such as thick section welding, hybrid welding, additive manufacture and pulsed laser processing. He works actively towards promoting more robust “black art”-free laser processing, by encouraging better understanding of laser processing amongst the laser users. His work, therefore, has been strongly applied and closely collaborative with various industries. Wojciech knows laser welding from practical and fundamental aspects. Ting Wang : Ting Wang received his PhD from University College London. He then joined MIT International Design Centre for silicon photonic research in Singapore. He started his academic career by taking Associate Professor position in the Nanoscale Physics and Devices Laboratory at Institute of Physics (Chinese Academy of Sciences) with commissioning the first III-V/IV hybrid Molecular Beam Epitaxy reactor for silicon photonics in China. His current research interest focuses on the silicon photonic heterogeneous integration by using Molecular Beam Epitaxy, including the development of novel optoelectronic devices including on-chip integrated lasers, detectors, and modulators. Wang is a pioneer of silicon based III-V lasers, acknowledged as one of the initial inventors of InAs quantum-dot laser on Si for monolithic silicon photonic integration. Wang has published over 100 papers and one book in the field of silicon photonics and semiconductor lasers, including Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Nano Letters, and Laser & Photonics Reviews, while holding several patents on integrated silicon photonics.

Prof Dr Jinbo Pang directed his research to wafer-scale controlled growth of two-dimensional materials and their electronic and optoelectronic device applications in University of Jinan since 2018. He graduated from Qingdao University (Bachelor) in 2008 (Electronics), Nankai University (Master) in 2011 (microelectronics and solid state electronics), University of Wuerzburg (Research Associate in Physical Chemistry) (2011-2013), Technische Universität Dresden (Germany) (PhD) in 2017 in materials science with thermal deposition approaches for graphene growth. After his study of two-dimensional materials transition metal dichalcogenides in IFW Dresden as a post doctorate, he joined Institute for Advanced Interdisciplinary Research (iAIR), University of Jinan, China as an assistant professor (in 2018) and associate professor (since 2022). This led to the award of Natural Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars of Shandong Province. He also hosts a NSFC grant and other two funding. Dr. Pang served as a member of Youth Editorial Board of the journal eScience (published by Elsevier) since 2022 and Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering (by Springer) since 2023 and InfoMat (by Wiley) since 2023. He has served in organizing and scientific/academic/program committee and co-chair of several international conferences. Dr. Jufan Zhang received his PhD degree in 2009 from Harbin Institute of Technology, China. After working in the industry for years, he returned to Harbin Institute of Technology asthe postdoctoral fellow, and then hosted several major funding as the PI. He joined the Centre of Micro/Nano Manufacturing Technology, University College Dublin, Ireland in 2017, and now is working as the lecturer and assistant professor. His research interests mainly include the micro/nano manufacturing, geometrical optical waveguide, micro/nano functional structures, etc.

Shun-Jen Cheng received his Dr. rar. nat. degree in physics from the University of Würzburg, Germany, in 2001. He is currently a full professor at the Department of Electrophysics of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU). His theoretical and computational research on low-dimensional systems covers the wide aspects of physics in nano-sciences, from the electronic structures, exciton physics, photonics to magnetism. His recent research is focused on the exciton fine structures of transitional metal dichalcogenide monolayers and the photo-excitation of exciton by twisted lights with quantized orbital angular momenta. The quantum solid-state theory group led by Prof. Cheng at NYCU has recently accomplished an advanced computational platform based on the first principles density-functional-theory and Bethe-Salpeter equation in the Wannier tight binding scheme, enabling the efficient and quantitatively valid calculations of full-zone exciton fine structures of 2D materials.

Dr. LIU Hong obtained his M. Eng and Ph.D. from the Dept of Mechanical Engineering of the National University of Singapore. He joined the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering, Agency for Science, Technology and Research Singapore in 2003. His research interest is focused on the development of advanced nanofabrication technologies for flat optics, tunable metasurfaces, nanophotonic devices, artificially engineered materials and nanoplasmonics, optical nanolithography, etc. Dr. LIU Hong is the Head of the Nanofabrication Department/Senior Scientist in IMRE, leading the Nanofabrication Department to advance the science and engineering of structured materials at micro- and nanometer scales.

Dr. Keyu Xia received his Doctorate of “Optics” in 2007 from Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, CAS. Since 2017, Dr. Xia has become a full professor and has been working at the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences in Nanjing University. Dr. Xia’s research interest includes Cavity quantum electrodynamics, quantum information, chiral and nonreciprocal quantum optics. Yu-Xuan Ren, Associate investigator. He received his Ph.D. degree from University of Science and Technology of China in 2012. Prof. Dr. Irena DREVENŠEK OLENIK is a full professor of physics at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Ljubljanaand a Senior ResearchFellow at the Department of Complex Matter at J. Stefan Institute in Ljubljana, Slovenia.She obtained her Ph.D. in physics from the University ofLjubljana in 1996. After this, she was a post-doctoral fellow at the Radboud University in Nijmegen in The Netherlands. In 1999 she returned to Sloveniaand became first a teaching assistant and then, in 2005, a lecturer in physics at the University ofLjubljana. In the study year 2005-06, she was visiting professor at the University of Vienna in Austria,and in the study year 2012-13 visitingprofessor at the Nankai University in Tianjin in China.Since 2018 she has been heading the research group “Light & Matter”, which main research activities take place in the field of soft matter physics. Part of the group is also active in the field of biomedical optics. The main expertise of the group lies in experimental research of complex soft materials by various optical methods. Natsuki Kanda received a Ph.D. of Engineering from the Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo in 2012. He belonged in Attosecond Research Group in RIKEN as a post-doctoral researcher (2012-2018). He is presently an Assistant Professor in The Institute for Solid State Physics, The University of Tokyo. Prof. Jian-Jun He, received the PhD degree in semiconductor optoelectronics from the University of Paris VI, Paris, France, in 1989. From1989 to 1993, he was with Technical University of Nova Scotia (now Dalhousie University), Halifax, Canada, where he worked on semiconductor nonlinear optical devices. He joined the National Research Council (NRC) of Canada, in 1994, where he worked on semiconductor photonic integrated devices for dense wavelength division multiplexing applications. In 2000, he co-founded Canadian photonics start-up company MetroPhotonics and served as the Chief Scientist. He joined the Department of Optical Engineering, Zhejiang University in 2006 as a Changjiang Chair Professor. He founded Lightip Technologies (Hangzhou) Co. Ltd. in 2013. He has published over 300 scientific papers, holds 20 US patents and over 70 Chinese patents. He served as the General Chair of ACP2011 and ACP2018, a steering committee member of CLEO-PR, and Topical Editor of Optics Letters. He is a Fellow of OSA and SPIE.

Dr. Eduardo F. Fernández has worked more than 10 years in the field of solar energy and Concentrator Photovoltaics. During this time he has been involved in research projects in prestigious research institutes, universities and private companies. His research interest covers the developing, characterization and modelling of photovoltaic and concentrator photovoltaic devices and systems.

Prof. Liu received his Ph. D degree in 2005 from Université Laval, Canada, and jointed Nankai University in 2007 as a full professor. His research interest focuses on the ultrafast laser optics and THz Photonics. Talk title: High Energy THz Pulse Generation by Filamentation in Gases and Broadband THz Detection at High Repetition Rate

Hairul is a Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, focusing on specialty optical fiber devices and sensors. He obtained his PhD in Optical Communication Systems from Multimedia University (MMU) in 2007. He has since, led a team of researchers, collaborating with Telekom Research and Development Sdn. Bhd. (TMR&D) focusing on designing and fabrication of specialty optical fiber for communications and sensors. His research team has cumulatively attracted grants close to RM9.9 million from PETRONAS, MOSTI, MOE and TM. His team is collaboratively working on doped optical fiber as Radiation Dosimeters. Working with Nuclear Malaysia, this project aims at allowing better measurement of radiation dose at various energy levels corresponding to applications ranging from environmental, diagnostics, radiotherapy to industrial. Resulting from these research endeavours, Hairul has published 134 peer-reviewed journals and 78 conference papers. He has filed 2 patents and granted 6 Industrial Designs (ID). The research team has collaborated extensively, both nationally and internationally, spanning across academia and industry. His research leadership and expertise has also been recognised through invited speeches at international conferences.

Dr. Prasant Kumar Sahu is currently working as a Professor in the School of Electrical Sciences, IIT Bhubaneswar.He is the Professor in charge of the Virtual and Augmented Reality Center of Excellence (VARCoE), of IIT Bhubaneswar. He is the Dean (Alumni Affairs and International Relations) of IIT Bhubaneswar.His research interest includes Long-Haul Communication System Design, Signal Processing, Design and Development of Intelligent Sensors, Distributed Sensors, Optical Instrumentations, Optical sensors in Healthcare, Environmental Monitoring, and Augmented and Virtual Reality. He has about 75+ Publications in Reputed International Journals and in Proceedings of Conferences. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, Fellow of IETE (I), Fellow of IE (I), and Senior Member OSA.

Song Liang received the B.S. degree and the M.S. degree from the department of Material Physics, Beijing University of Science and Technology, China, in 1999 and 2002, respectively, and the Ph.D degree from Institute of Semiconductor, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, in 2006. He is currently working as a Professor at Institute of Semiconductor, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests include MOCVD growth of semiconductor materials, design and fabrication of optoelectronic devices including high speed directly or externally modulated DFB lasers, widely tunable DBR lasers, high power DFB lasers, UTC-PDs, transistor lasers and monolithic multi-wavelength laser arrays and other PICs. He has published more than 170 scientific publications.

Jun Wang received his Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering, Hanyang University, Seoul, Korea, in 2011. He was a postdoctoral fellowship at the Space Science and Engineering Center and Dept. of Elec. & Comp. Engr., the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Madison, USA from 2011 to 2012. He has been an associate professor at College of Electronics & Information Engineering, Sichuan University, China from 2012. Now, He works on Holographic Display, Machine/Deep Learning Application, and Image Processing. He has published 80+ publications, which including 60+ SCI and 25 EI indexed papers. He is an OPTICA Member, SID member, and has been IEEE Senior Member, Associate Editor of IEEE ACCESS since 2019, and Committee of 3D imaging & display Section in CSIG since 2021. His h-Index is 14 and i10-Index is 19 since 2017 in google scholar.

Aditya Pandya received his Ph.D. in Medical Physics from Toronto Metropolitan University in 2019. He is currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Texas A&M University and has worked as a Postdoctoral researcher at University of California, Riverside. He also worked as a MITACS Postdoctoral researcher with Toronto Metropolitan University and Tornado Spectral Systems, Toronto, ON, Canada. His research focuses on developing multimodal imaging techniques and translating research into commercial products. His research interests include multimodal imaging and spectroscopy, commercial optomechanical designs, optical simulations, biosensors, and biophotonics.

Lokendra Singh has obtained his Ph. D. in the field of optical fiber communication in year 2019. Currently, He is working as assistant professor in Electronics and Communication Engineering department at KoneruLakshaiah Educational Foundation, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. His research interests include Optical Fiber Biosensors, Optical Biosensor, Plasmonic and Photonic devices. He has published more than 40 international journal and conference papers. He is a Former Visiting Researcher at Shandong Key Laboratory of Optical Communication Science and Technology, Liaocheng University (LCU), Shandong, China. He has delivered 10+ invited talks at various institutions, and organizations of repute in India. He is serving as reviewer in several journal of repute.

Dr. Wenjun Ni, is currently an associate professor in South-Central Minzu University, Wuhan, China. He obtained the support by “Wuhan talent” program in 2021. He was a Postdoc (Research Fellow) in Centre of Optical Fiber Technology, Nanyang Technological University from 2019 to 2020 (Supervised by Prof. Perry Shum). Earlier, he got his Ph. D degree in Optical Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 2019. He works in the fields of special optical fiber device, fiber acoustic sensing and photoacoustic/photothermal spectrum in specialty fiber. He has more than 50 publications in international journals such as Photonics Research, Optics Letters and Optics Express.

Mo Chen received the B. Sc. degree in optical information science and technology, the M. S. degree and Ph. D degree in optical engineering from National University of Defense Technology (NUDT) , China, in 2009, 2011, and 2015, respectively. She is now an assistant research fellow with NUDT. She has authored more than 30 papers in journals and conferences. Her primary research interests are narrow-linewidth lasers and optical fiber sensors.
