Professor Shen Zexiang is a Professor with the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. He has spent close to 30 years in academic and research positions in China, London and Singapore. His current research works focus on nearfield Raman microscopy, Plasmonics, nano materials and devices, graphene and nanosphere lithography, graphene-based supercapicators and batteries, and over 200 of his papers have been published in international journals. Professor Shen received his Bachelor degree in Physics from Jilin University, and PhD degree from King’s College, University of London.

Dr. Yuichi Nakamura received his B.E. in information engineering and M.E. in electrical engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1986 and 1988, respectively. He received his PhD. from the Graduate School of Information, Production and Systems, Waseda University, in 2007. He joined NEC Corp. in 1988 and he led NEC’s research about embedded system design and quantum technologies as a general manager and a vice president of NEC research and development. Currently, he is an executive professional of NEC Corp. He is also a guest professor at Kyushu University, Waseda University and Tokyo University and an invited professor of Osaka University. Hehas more than 30 years of professional experience in electronic design automation, signal processing, supercomputer design, combinational optimization and quantum computing. Dr. Yuichi Nakamura contributed to manage and lead several innovative projects in signal processing and computing area. He has published more than 25 journal articles, 40 international conference papers and had many keynotes talks at major conferences. Currently, he is a board member of Japanese government quantum innovation meeting, a program officer of Japanese Quantum sensing project and an evaluation committee of several Japanese government grant meetings.

Ying Huang, she received her B.S. and M.S. degrees from the College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering of Shenzhen University and her Ph.D. degree from the School of Engineering of Tohoku University. She is a specially appointed assistant professor with Kanamori & Okatani Lab., School of Engineering, Tohoku University. Her research interests include micro/nano-electromechanical systems, terahertz metamaterials, and plasmonic structures.

Title of Talk : Electromechanically Reconfigurable Metamaterials for Active Control of THz Waves Transmission.

Dr. Xin Chen is a Principle Engineer at Ipswich Research Center, Huawei. He received Ph.D from Aalborg University, Denmark, and has worked at academia including York University, Manchester University, Cambridge University, and industry including Corning Research Center, CIP, and Huawei. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed papers and held over 20 patents. His recent work is focusing on high-speed semiconductor transmitters.

Dr. Amir H. Ghadimi is currently an expert/team leader at the Swiss Center for Electronics and Micro/nano technology (CSEM). He is leading the efforts at CSEM in the areas of PICs and PIC based sensing where together with his team they are developing a PIC platform-based lithium niobate on insulator (LNOI) as well as hybrid integration schemes. He is also the coordinator of several large national and international projects such as the H2020 project ELENA, which aims at developing the first open access European LNOI platform and open foundry. He obtains his PhD. degree in electrical engineering in 2018 from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). He is the recipient of several awards and grants such as Swiss national funding (SNF) Sinergia grant (2021), SNF Bridge discovery grant (2020), Swiss Physical Society (SPS) 2019 young scientist award, Swiss Nanotechnology best PhD award (2018) and European frequency and time forum (EFTF) best paper award (2018). His research interests are integrated photonics, quantum optics, quantum opto-mechanics, precision sensing, nonlinear photonics, and ultra-high speed microwave photonics.

Akhilesh Tiwari, born at Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, India in 1977. Obtained his M Sc (Physics) and Ph D in Photonic Crystals. He achieved two Ph D degrees, one in Physics (2005)from India and another one is in Process Engineering from France. He has postdoctoral research experience at France (2007-2012) with European Space Agency. He joined the Department of Applied Sciences, IIIT Allahabad in 2012. He has been the Head, Department of Applied Sciences, Chairman SPGC and headed several bodies at IIIT Allahabad. Currently, he is working as OSD (Officer on Special Duties) to the Director, IIIT Allahabad, Chief Proctor, and the Head (All branches of first year B. Tech. courses). He is senior member of IEEE, Chairman, IEEE Photonics Society Chapter, Secretary, IEEE UP section, Secretary, IAPT-RC-4, and representing several other National and International bodies.He gained experience in the field of research and teaching for more than 22 years. He has published and presented more than 130research papers in his credit at different National and International platforms. He has supervised 5Ph D and 15 M Tech thesis and more than 100 B Tech projects. His research area is modeling and simulation,process engineering, photonic crystals, plasmonic biosensors, space studies for life support system. Also, he has a broad experience in working with French Space Agency and European space agency for data analytics and experimental modeling &simulation. He is a very active member of several International and National scientific bodies such as IEEE, IAPT,BRSI, PSI, Opticaand AIAA etc.
