Ngo, Huu Hao (Hao) is a Distinguished Professor of Environmental Engineering and serves as the Deputy Director of the Centre for Technology in Water and Wastewater, and Co-Director of the Joint Research Centre for Environmental Green Bioprocess at the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, FEIT, University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia. He is a well-recognized figure in the field of environmental engineering and has received several prestigious honours including the Chairman of the International Bioprocessing Association, Distinguished Fellow of International Bioprocessing Association, and Fellow of International Water Association. Hao is also the Founder and Executive Coordinator of the Australasia Practical Zero Emissions Society.Hao’s expertise and practical experience extend to advanced biological wastewater/waste treatment technologies such as membrane bioreactors, specific attached and/or suspended growth bioreactors, anaerobic digestion, wetlands, and bio-sorption. His expertise spans green and sustainable bioprocessing technologies, biogas/biohydrogen production, greenhouse gas emission control/climate change mitigation, resource recovery, renewable resources, water management, environmental impact assessment, and solid waste management.Hao’s research publications have garnered significant recognition. He is a Clarivate Analytics, Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher (2019 to 2022) and has authored over 750 publications, including 16 books and 54 book chapters.
